Hi Brian,
Reaching out to others in the spirit of compassion, is a calling, a kind of devotion which entails a great amount of selflessness which cannot help but enable us see beyond the superficial differences in our lives. Like a modest seed, each act of service contains within it the power to take root, blossom, and generate other acts of service. Service is at once about making connections with others and coming to understand the connections which have always existed. I hope that your service in my continent (Africa) will be one that will satisfy you and enable you to make better connections with man and with God.
Bonne voyage et je te souhaite la bénédiction et grace de Dieu.

It appears challenge and adventure is a family trait.

Making a difference in the world is why we exist, one life at a time.

Godspeed on you journey brother, semper fidelis.

Brian,

We love you and we will miss you very much!

I suggested to Stevie that for the fourth picture in your header it should go something like this:

Brian Becker hanging from a tree in the Congo while taking pictures and handing out micro loans, all predicated upon the prevenient grace of the Triune God which makes the gift of your life (and mine) possible.

What do you think? :)

Peace,

eric
